I can allow the 1, however the 34 is simply too long for a bus route, being nearly 40 miles long and could take between 2 to 3 hours between the termini. Whilst the idea is good unfortunately it's too long. However I could suggest something to St Helens interworking with a St Helens - Manchester route.

Good old EU tachograph rules at it's best . Back in the day North Western and Crosville had a route which ran from Southport to Chester!!!

Amended route reg below, it works out like the 2X2.

To be fair there are routes that long out there, my best example is Transdev Yorkshire 844 (Leeds-Whitby), a journey of some 70 odd miles taking 3 hours 17 minutes. Would this also prevent me operating a service from Preston-Liverpool via Ormskirk (Stagecoach operate a similar route via Southport)? Anyway, my routes 213, 227, 232, 234

True there are, but I feel an interworking route based on a Liverpool - St Helens/St Helens - Manchester would be better for the passengers and company. Your Preston-Liverpool route would be fine DMN.
