Re: tfbg2011009: Link Travel
Link Travel - Introduction
Link Travel have formed to give people new links to the hotspots and different areas of the North West. We hope to make our services attractive and our buses welcoming in a bid to deter people from using their cars and onto our buses.
Our first service, the 122, will link Crosby, Thornton, Netherton, Aintree and Walton with Fazakerley (Aintree University Hospital), every 30 minutes on Mondays to Fridays (the timetable is in our company profile, which can be found on the second post of this thread). The service will commence on the 21/11/2011 and will be operated by low-floor easy-access buses.
We have big plans for other new services to commence before the Christmas and new-year period, so keep up-to-date with us by keeping your eye on our company profile.

We are happy to announce that our bus-painting facilities are now up and running. DAF DB250RS/Alexander ALX400 T302 FGN (10302) will be the first bus to be painted in our brand-new facilities.
Also, V405/V406/V407/V408/V409/V410 ENC (10405/10406/10407/10408/10409/10410 respectively) will return tomorrow from Bootle Paintshop and Repair Centre in our company livery.

Link Travel - General Update (14/11/2011)
We are happy to announce that our six DAF SB220GS/Alexander ALX300s (10405/10406/10407/10408/10409/10410) returned today from the Bootle Paintshop and Repair Centre looking impressive in our company livery! They will be out and about during the course of this week on route training duties, in order to make sure that our driving force know the ins and the outs of our first service, the 122 (as mentioned above).
Also - as from the 28/11/2011 - we will be improving our service network. For more information, please keep your eye on this thread.
In other news, DAF DB250RS/Alexander ALX400 10302 is currently being repainted into our company livery in our new bus repainting workshop. Hopefully, the standards of the paint job will match the standards of the appearance of our recently-returned DAF SB200GSs. If all goes to plan, it will be completed on Thursday (17/11/2011).

Re: tfbg2011009: Link Travel
We are happy to announce that 10302 has now emerged from our repainting facilities looking fantastic!
Unfortunately, non of our current bus duties are booked a double-decker, however once things settle down here, we are sure we will be able to get it out before its planned full-time use, which is after the Christmas and new-year period when we will be starting school services.
Next in line for repainting is the newest bus in our fleet, VDL SB200CS/Wright Commander 10006 (CX06 BJO). This bus is planned to be used on a high-speed express service which will start soon. Keep an eye on our company profile for details regarding that, along with changes to our 122, which should be commencing from the 28/11/2011.
Edit (16/11/2011 - 21:35) - Due to more painting and maintenance workers being acquired over the last 24 hours, we will be able to repaint up to four buses at a time. As it currently stands, Dennis Dart SPD 11.3m/Plaxton Pointer 2 10903 (V903 EWP) will be repainted along with (originally) 10006, and Scania L113CRL/Northern Counties Paladin 2 10260 (P260 NBA) will be repainted as soon as it has been fixed (it currently has a mechanical fault).

10006 CX06 BJO - Reserve
10302 T302 FGN - Reserve
10405 V405 ENC - Reserve
10406 V406 ENC - Reserve
10407 V407 ENC - Reserve
10408 V408 ENC - Bus Duty 1001 (21/11/2011 > 25/11/2011)
10409 V409 ENC - Bus Duty 1002 (21/11/2011 > 25/11/2011)
10410 V410 ENC - Bus Duty 1003 (21/11/2011 > 25/11/2011)
10903 V903 EWP - Reserve
Route training for the 122 has been going on for the past week, and drivers are generally happy with the timing points, and even the buses! However big changes are expected very soon for this service, so keep up-to-date with us!
Over the next few weeks (on new services only), you may notice our buses in a plain white livery, and some may feature a step entrance. Once we start earning money, we hope that our fleet will improve.

General Update - 20/11/2011
Services
Tomorrow is our big day! The 122 will commence, which will run between Crosby and Aintree University Hospital (via Thornton, Netherton, Aintree and Walton) every 30 minutes from the 21/11/2011 up until the 25/11/2011.
As from next Monday (28/11/2011), we plan big changes to the 122, and an express service will be launched, so keep an eye on this thread throughout this week for further information.
On the 12/12/2011, our Christmas and new year timetables will be launched (for services running on the 24/12/2011, 25/12/2011, 26/12/2011, 31/12/2011 and the 01/01/2012).
Fleet
As shown in our updated company profile, the buses highlighted in red are "NFS" (not for service - this means they may be getting work done to them). The buses highlighted in yellow at the moment are all ready for service (unless otherwise stated).
Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renowns W102/W103/W104/W105 EWU (10102/10103/10104/10105) are all in the process of being repainted for another service that may start on the 28/11/2011, depending on driver conditions.
Company Profile (on the second post of this thread)
Our updated company profile now shows driver pay, along with our financial record. We estimate that profits for this forthcoming week will be around £3,000.
Keep your eye on this thread for up-to-date information about us!

Re: tfbg2011009: Link Travel
Our 122 started today and was generally successful, apart from the lack of lay-over facilities at both Islington in Crosby and Aintree University Hospital (Broadway). We'll be revising the timetable from the 28/11/2011 to improve it, so this problem won't be permanent.
We were pleased that staff from Aintree University Hospital came out to talk to our drivers about the new service, and ironically, a lot of staff use our early morning and evening services to get to/from work. They're pleased that they now have a direct service.
A quick analysis of passenger numbers today showed a fair result - morning (between 09:00 and 10:30) and afternoon (between 14:00 and the last journeys) being the journeys that earned us the most income.
All in all, a great first day for us. We hope this will continue...

Re: tfbg2011009: Link Travel
Over the past two days, our six DAF/ALX300s have been out (10408-10410 yesterday and 10405-10407 today) and have proved successful for the 122.
On Friday (after two more days of a repeated allocation), our Commander CX06 BJO (10006) and a Renown - W102 EWU (10102) with LED destination equipment out of one of our reserve buses, V903 EWP (10903) - will be allocated onto the 122 along with DAF/ALX300 V409 ENC (10409).
Revealing some changes from the 28/11/2011, our 122 will be totally revised to run from Waterloo, via Crosby then the existing 122 route to Fazakerley, then via Croxteth to Kirkby. A Saturday timetable will also be introduced. Also, we'll be starting a Skelmersdale to Liverpool express service (X45), featuring four return journeys on Mondays to Saturdays. Timetables will be released very soon.

Re: tfbg2011009: Link Travel
Unfortunately, V405 ENC (10405) broke down today on Glovers Lane in Netherton whilst operating the 10:00 122 journey from Crosby. It was swiftly replaced by V409 ENC (10405) and 10405 was temporarily fixed to get it back to our depot.
Tomorrow, our Commander CX06 BJO (10006) and one of our DAF DB250RS/Alexander ALX400s, T302 FGN (10302), will be out in force on the 122, so look out for them!

Also, our X45 will start which is an express service from Skelmersdale to Liverpool on Mondays to Saturdays (four return journeys), along with our 52 (Old Roan > Netherton > Liverpool), 62 (Allerton > Fazakerley > Bootle > Crosby) and various school services (692 693 727 728 and 737).

Is there any chance the Link Travel fleet could be put up for sale, as he clearly isn't coming back onto the game!
Thanks

If this is to happen Vannin and Northern bus Services would like to reclaim their previous buses for the price they were orginally sold to Link Travel for.
